HALE PET DOOR™
WEB SECURITY POLICY

General Information:

Internet connections to www.halepetdoor.com are protected by a firewall, virus-protection and secure connections. All financial transaction processing is conducted behind a firewall protected DMZ not located on the web server.

Hale Pet Door employs a variety of security techniques and E-merchant service providers that specialize in providing a secure environment to conduct E-business. All customer information required to process a transaction is encrypted and is processed through a secure international gateway. No customer personal or financial information is stored on the website at any time. All credit processing information is removed from the temporary off-line credit processing server as soon as the payment is verified and deposited. Customer address information is retained throughout the warranty period. Customer data is never sold or shared with anyone.

All credit-check and payments are processed across a 128 bit secured connection. Fraud detection software provided by the leading E-Merchant service provider checks for address verification, card code verification and a risk assessor service that checks various aspects of the transaction against as many as 150 individual business rules before processing the order. No financial data is ever stored!

Payment Processing Steps:

Step 1: Consumer places an order with the merchant through the Website

Step 2: Merchant submits the order/transaction via the gateway service. The system securely encrypts and forwards the Authorization Request to the Consumer's Credit Card Issuer to verify the consumer's credit card account and funds availability.

Step 3: The Authorization (or Decline) Response is returned via the system to the Merchant. This process typically averages around 2 seconds.

Step 4: Upon approval, the Merchant fulfills the consumer's order.

Step 5: The system sends the settlement request to the Merchant service provider.

Step 6: The Merchant Service provider deposits transaction funds into the merchant's business checking or depository account.

    HALE PET DOOR™
    RESERVATION OF RIGHTS POLICY

HSPD Manufacturing, Inc dba as Hale Pet Door ™ (HPD), reserves all rights with respect to its trademarks, service Marks, logos, trade names, trade dress and other indicia ("Marks"). HPD does not routinely accept or review specific requests for guidance on the use of its Marks. Any unauthorized use of any HPD-owned Mark, or any use of a mark that is confusingly similar to, or likely to cause confusion with, an HPD-owned Mark, would constitute infringement of HPD's exclusive trademark rights.

This document does NOT constitute any form of license to use any HPD-owned Mark. No HPD employee is authorized to provide guidance on the use of HPD-owned Marks, nor to give permission to use any HPD-owned Mark, except by formal written license agreement published by HPD (e.g., through one of its membership programs) or signed by an authorized director or vice president. Any promise, agreement, guidance or other representation by any HPD employee (other than by a formal license as described herein) is invalid and cannot be relied upon. If you have questions about the laws surrounding the use of HPD's Marks, or any other parties' Marks, you should consult a qualified attorney.

In certain instances, HPD provides limited licenses to third parties to use specific HPD-owned Marks in the context of formal distributor/dealer affiliate programs. If you are a member in good standing of one of HPD's programs, please see your program's website, membership materials or distribution agreement(s) for terms and conditions related to any use of HPD-owned Marks.

    Referential Use Only
You may make purely referential use of HPD-owned Marks as described in this section, but you should consult your own legal counsel on what does or does not constitute proper referential or nominative fair use of another company's Marks, and what may constitute an unauthorized or infringing use.

When referencing HPD-owned Marks, use of product logos or box designs is NOT allowed without a written license from HPD. Referential uses of HPD-owned Marks must only be made in plain text.

Plain-text use of HPD's Marks in commercial contexts may only be made for purposes like describing basic file format or data integration compatibility (in the case of software), ability to train others on the use of HPD products (in the case of such services) or true, factual statements as to the nature of any relationship with HPD, where one exists. Any use HPD's Marks or of statements that imply endorsement, affiliation, certification or other relationship — where none exists — are strictly prohibited.

There may be situations where it would be appropriate for you to state in your marketing materials, or on packaging for your own offerings, that your product or service is "for use with" or is "designed to work with" or "compatible with" an HPD product. Please consult a qualified attorney if you have questions about proper nominative fair use of HPD's Marks. Members in good standing HPD licensing or membership programs are bound by specific terms and conditions governing proper referential use of HPD's Marks. Please review your program terms and conditions for details.

Use of HPD’s Marks within other companies' product names, service names, company/trade names, domain names or other indicia is strictly prohibited.

    Trademark Symbols and Legends

Referential use of HPD's Marks should include the proper trademark symbol(s). Registered trademarks and Registered service Marks bear the "®" symbol, whereas unregistered trademarks bear a "TM" symbol, and unregistered service Marks bear an "SM" symbol. A current list of the proper symbol placement for some of HPD's most-frequently referenced Marks can be found below.
Where possible, HPD requests that those who make reference to HPD's products with their associated Marks also provide a short ownership attribution statement somewhere within those materials. Any attribution should be worded generally as shown in the following example: "HPD are trademarks and service Marks of HPD Manufacturing Inc., registered in the United States and other countries." Where an unregistered Mark is referenced, a sentence may be used which simply states that the mark is a "trademark and/or service mark of HPD Manufacturing Inc.", and which omits the registration portion of the statement.
