Vertical Hale OptiView Window Model Pet Door

The Vertical OptiView Window Model is available in any of our 11 standard sizes or we can make you a custom size door.  Please see our sizes page for more information if you need help in choosing the proper size. Please choose a size from the drop down box. The dimensions listed next to each size are for the passage opening the pet would use.  For approximate tip to tip frame dimensions of the pet door itself, see our sizes page. The height of the window unit will vary with the size of the pet door you request.  If you need a custom size door, please see our custom models information page.  NOTE: picture shows door models.

Our window model comes standard with double flaps for improved insulation and energy efficiency. Though not recommended, in some situations you may choose to install a single flap model. Therefore, our vertical Hale OptiView Window™ model is available in three window pane/pet door flap configurations.

1. Double pane window with double flap pet door
2. Single pane window with single flap pet door
3. Double pane window with single flap pet door

Some pets initially resist pushing through the regular pet door flaps so we offer a flexible training flap as an optional add-on.  The training flap is made of a similar material to our regular flap but it has no strikes and has been vertically slashed several times to make it very easy to push through.  It does not, however, provide the energy efficiency of our regular flap.  Therefore, once an animal has gotten used to the training flap, the standard flaps should be re-installed one at a time.

If you order this at the same time as you order your door, we will install it for you at the factory and send the regular flaps (predrilled for ease of installation) in addition to your door.  As a standard, only one training flap is supplied with each order.  Typically, you would train the animal to use the single training flap, then switch it out for one of our regular flaps and finally attach the second regular flap on a double flap model.  If you prefer to have two training flaps sent with your door, please order an additional one from our parts page.

If you do not order a training flap with your initial door order but find that you need one at a later date, you can order them by visiting our replacement parts page. Please add 5% to the cost of the door for training flaps.

Pet Door Frame Colors Available.

Arizona Beige -- hard  coat paint, looks like coffee with a couple of creamers added.

Brushed Aluminum -- anodized metal, satin nickel color, looks like the bottom of a Coke can

Dark Bronze -- anodized metal, chocolate brown,  looks almost black in dimmer light

White -- white hard coat paint

We offer four color choices for our pet door covers.  Our standard covers are made of opaque, textured King Starboard® and each of the four available colors are designed to complement the four frame colors.   

The covers are designed to coordinate as follows:

The overall width of the window should be measured in the sliding track from the inside of one vertical side track and flush with the inner face of the opposite vertical side track or window frame.  Do not measure inside both tracks or the window unit will be too wide.  Do not measure flush on both ends or the window unit will be too narrow. 

We do not need this measurement to manufacture your door as the height is determined by the size of the pet door you request in your window unit.  However, we would like to verify that their is enough room for the requested pet door size before manufacturing your window unit.

Our standard window insert will fit into window tracks 7/8" or greater.  If your track measures between 1/2" and 7/8", the window insert will need to be factory modified to fit into the channel.  We provide this service at no additional charge to you if you provide us the measurement of your window tracks when ordering.

Details:

If you choose "left side", your pet door will be constructed with the pet door on the left side and the window glass filling the remaining space on the right side of the pet door as shown below.  The adjustment mechanism will be on the right end of the window unit.

If you choose "right side", your pet door will be constructed with the pet door on the right side and the window glass filling the remaining space on the left side of the pet door as shown below.  The adjustment mechanism will be on the left end of the window unit.

If you choose "centered", your pet door will be placed in the middle of the window unit and window glass will fill in the remaining space on both sides of the pet door as shown below.  You will need to specify which end you would like the adjustment mechanism placed on.  You will also need to indicate whether you would like your security cover to load from the left side of the pet door or the right side of the pet door.  Please keep in mind that the overall width of the window needs to be considered if ordering this option so that there is sufficient room for the security cover to slide in and out easily.

Low E is a coating applied to the glass to reduce heat.  It is untinted and reduces the heat entering through the glass while still allowing the light to come in.

Tint is a coating applied to the glass to reduce heat.  Tint changes with glass thickness and other variables and cannot be guaranteed as to color or darkness.   It is almost impossible for us to match a preexisting tint that you may have on your patio door or window.
