When to choose a door-mounted dog door
A door install keeps the project simple.
Pick the Door Model when a back, side or garage door already opens where your dog needs to go.
Mounting the dog door in an existing door avoids cutting into a wall. The Door Model is self-framing and works in hollow-core, raised-panel and multi-lite French doors made of wood, metal or composite. If no door is in the right place, the wall dog door lets you put the opening in an exterior wall instead.
Before you buy, measure the door's thickness and check its material and construction, where the opening will sit, and the clearance for the security cover. Read the Door Model installation instructions to decide whether to install it yourself, or use the dealer locator to find an installer.

Double flaps
One flexible 3/16" clear PVC vinyl flap on each surface, held closed with Alnico 5 magnets. A single-flap configuration is available on some models.
Extruded aluminum frame
6063-T5 extruded aluminum with a .063" wall, sealed with 1/2" nylon pile weather-stripping.
Security cover with pin lock
The cover slides into a built-in track and locks with a positive-action steel pin lock. Top-loading is standard; side-loading is available.
Sizes and finishes
11 standard sizes plus custom sizes, in brushed aluminum, dark bronze, white or Arizona beige.
