Cooper’s Chance Animal Rescue Helps Pets and the Environment

Cooper’s Chance Animal Rescue in Maricopa County, Arizona, has been a valued Rescue Rewards partner with Hale Pet Door since 2009. Like other rescues all over the country, they save dogs and cats slated for euthanasia at over-crowded shelters.  But there is something unique about Cooper’s Chance:  They are “Green”!  Cooper’s Chance plans to build Arizona’s first eco-friendly, no-kill animal shelter.

As their website explains: “Green Focused, we will reuse and recycle everything we can to ensure our paw print on earth is minimal. Combining our care for animals with our concern for the environment, we will be working with members of the U.S. Green Building Council to achieve sustainability status under the current LEED v3 certification program for new construction.”

Cooper’s Chance is a 501c3 non-profit, all-volunteer animal rescue established in 2006. As their website describes: “Our animals come from various situations of abuse and neglect; some have been surrendered by their owner or abandoned. We also rescue dogs and cats from county shelters, moments from euthanasia. All of our rescued pets are placed into loving foster homes and receive one on one attention, complete vet care, training and socialization. Our goal is to give each animal in our care a safe, happy place to call a forever home.”

Cooper’s Chance is seeking volunteers to share their skills in building the new eco-shelter.  Donations of materials and funds are needed too.  For more information, contact them at 480-883-3375 and  Go to for further details.

 Cooper’s Chance Featured Dog

MAZZY is a young 8-9 year female old Chocolate Lab/Pointer mix. She is older, but still has spunk. Mazzy was rescued from the county shelter death row. No place for an older gal to spend her senoir years, we rescued her and hope to find a loving home. Mazzy is very sweet, outgoing, loves people and does well with all dogs and kids. She even likes to swim! Mazzy would be ideal for a slower paced life that still enjoyed taking a walk or evening swim. She is a wonderful companion and deserves a nice, safe place to spend the rest of her years. Mazzy is larger sized, approx 55-60lbs and is part of the Old Timer Club and can be adopted for a discount.  All Cooper’s Chance adoptable pets are spayed/neutered, UTD on shots, heartworm negative, de-wormed, micro chipped and housebroken. Go to their website at for more on adopting Mazzy.
